In Gastonia, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in North Carolina, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 9 am–5 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Getting around Gastonia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Explained what we needed, was walked through options, clarifying questions, and then helped load the bushes into the car. Explained house plants that would be easy to tend too. Great experiencence!

My favorite place to treat myself and also find plants and flowers when I have an idea and start a project in the yard. The owners and plant and gift shop managers are highly knowledgeable and most helpful especially with advice and ideas. Nice selection of trees, shrubs, flowers and gifts that actually do thrive in our environment. Always welcoming and still has the warm environment of a family owned local business. Super convenient and NO annoying shopping center parking drama😁 The employees actually gifted me with a beautiful basket for encouragement through some tough times. Thank you New Hope Greenhouse Gastonia NC!

Absolutely in love with this Nursery! I can’t believe I have driven by it for years now, and never stopped in. The employees are so kind and helpful, the quality of the plants is a million times better than any of your big name garden centers. Planning to get everything I ever need for my gardens here!
